Dr Francisco López, coordinator of surveillance and border control of the Ministry of Health, told Última Hora that four people of foreign nationality could not enter the country because they did not have the vaccination certificate against Covid-19.

He explained that there were three Germans aged 29, 21 and 19 and a 50-year-old Frenchman. They all arrived at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport on Saturday on the Air Europa flight and returned to their country of origin on the same flight at 8:20 p.m.

Paraguay requires a vaccination certificate from people who wish to enter the country through any border point, except for people who are residents of or come from Mercosur member countries. The measure entered into force on January 12, 2022.

According to the entry protocol, foreigners from other parts of the world also need: Traveler’s Health Declaration, SARS-CoV-2 test before entry and another after.

They must also present international medical insurance.

The Ministry of Health clarifies that travelers who have received the second dose of a two-dose vaccination schedule for two weeks or those who have only received one of the single doses are considered fully vaccinated.
